However, when the plotters aren't Muslim it seems that certain news organisations and law enforcement agencies are happy to downplay the whole incident and refer to the would be assassins as a "bunch of knuckleheads".
The American authorities have now decided there was insufficient evidence of an assassination plot against Barack Obama, despite finding a significant arms cache on the 3 suspects.
One can't help but wonder how this story would have been played out by the American media and Neo-Con commentators on both sides of the Atlantic had the suspects been Muslim?
